About the Position

A Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) is needed to provide locum coverage in a hospital surgical setting. The role includes a combination of Surgical First Assist in the Operating Room and medical-surgical floor coverage. You will work primarily with General Surgery, OB/GYN, and Orthopedic patients, assisting with procedures, patient rounding, progress notes, managing orders, discharges, and consults.

Highlights:

• Patient population: Adults with a wide variety of acute medical and surgical needs
• Hospital size: 109 beds
• Charting/EMR: EPIC
• Shift types: 4x10-hour shifts, 3x12-hour shifts, or combination of weekdays and weekends
• Weekend call: Friday 5 PM – Monday 7 AM, rounding Sat-Sun 8 AM – 12 PM
• Weeknight call: 4 shifts/month, 5 PM – 7 AM

Requirements

• NY State PA or NP license
• Board certified PA or NP
• AHA BLS, ACLS, ATLS certifications
• Minimum 2 years of recent surgical experience
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Epic EMR experience preferred
