About the Position

We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner (NP) for a locum tenens assignment in New York providing Surgical First Assist and Medical-Surgical Floor coverage.

In this role, you will assist in the OR with procedures including wound cauterization, vessel clamping, suturing, hemostasis, and patient positioning. You will also provide medical-surgical floor support by rounding, managing orders, consults, and patient discharges.

Shifts vary by assignment: typical day shifts (7a-3p), weekday call shifts, or weekend coverage (Fri 5 PM – Mon 7 AM). Patient populations include adults undergoing General Surgery, OB/GYN, and Orthopedic procedures. EMR system used is Epic, with exposure to acutely ill adult patients.

Requirements

• Nurse Practitioner (NP)– board-certified
• Active New York NP license required
• AHA BLS, ACLS, ATLS certifications
• Minimum of 2 years recent hospital or surgical experience
• Experience assisting in the OR preferred
• Strong teamwork and communication skills for hospital-based multidisciplinary teams
