About the Position
A respected healthcare organization in Rome, New York is seeking a full-time Hospitalist (MD/DO) to join a well-supported inpatient team. This is an excellent opportunity to practice in a community-focused environment with a manageable patient load and strong subspecialty support.
The position offers a highly desirable 7 on / 7 off daytime schedule (7 AM – 7 PM), allowing for an excellent work-life balance with no on-call responsibilities. Physicians will manage an average of 12–15 patients per day and work collaboratively within a hospitalist team caring for a combined daily census of approximately 40–50 patients.
Responsibilities include rounding, admissions, and managing rapid responses and codes. Providers will work in an open ICU setting with 24/7 intensivist consultation available, ensuring strong clinical support. Documentation is completed using an established EMR system, and physicians collaborate closely with specialists and hospital staff to deliver high-quality, coordinated care.
This opportunity is open to both experienced physicians and truly board-eligible new graduates who are committed to obtaining board certification within the required timeframe.
Qualifications

Board Certified or Truly Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine

Board Eligible candidates must become Board Certified within 2 years

- Active New York medical license (or willingness to obtain)
- DEA, BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (or willingness to obtain)
- Clean malpractice and license history required
- Most recent NPDB Self Query Report (within 30 days) required
- Comfortable working in an open ICU with intensivist support
- Willingness to work a full-time 7 on / 7 off schedule
- Not accepting locum, visa, or 1099 candidates
- Not open to candidates with lapsed board certification
