About the Position
A well-established healthcare organization is seeking a full-time Geriatrics Physician to join a dedicated and collaborative team in Michigan. This opportunity offers a rewarding practice focused on delivering high-quality care to an aging population across multiple care settings, including nursing facilities and advanced care coordination programs.
The role provides a balanced mix of clinical care, teaching opportunities, and schedule flexibility, allowing physicians to focus on delivering comprehensive, patient-centered care for complex geriatric cases.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide primary and specialized care to geriatric patients in nursing facilities and coordinated care programs
- Manage complex medical conditions in elderly populations with a patient-centered approach
- Participate in a shared call schedule among providers
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes
- Engage in teaching opportunities with residents, medical students, and fellows
- Maintain thorough documentation and care coordination across multiple settings
Qualification:
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Geriatric Medicine OR Board Certified in Internal Medicine/Family Medicine with geriatric experience
- Must become Board Certified within 2 years if Board Eligible
- Experience working with geriatric populations required
- Valid state medical license (or willingness to obtain prior to start)
- DEA, BLS, and ACLS certifications required (or willing to obtain)
- Strong clinical and communication skills with a focus on elderly care
- Clean malpractice history preferred
- Not accepting candidates with lapsed board certification
- Not open to commuters or candidates seeking secondary employment
- Not accepting Locums or visa candidates
