About the Position

A locum Physician role is available in Potsdam, NY, within a hospital-based obstetrics and gynecology service providing 24-hour inpatient and labor & delivery coverage. The physician will be responsible for managing a high-acuity OB/GYN patient population, including deliveries, surgical interventions, and emergency obstetric care.

This role involves handling 15–20 patients per day, performing procedures such as cesarean sections, vaginal deliveries, D&C/D&E, and operative gynecologic surgeries, while working alongside a fully supported team including RNs, anesthesiology (on call), CNAs, and clerical staff. The setting uses EPIC EMR and includes both adult and pediatric patients with varied acuity levels.

Shift Timings:

• 24-hour shifts: 7:00 AM – 7:00 AM or 7:00 PM – 7:00 PM
• Call type: First call coverage

Requirements

• Board Certified in Obstetrics & Gynecology
• Active New York State Medical License
• BLS, ACLS, and NRP Certifications (Required)
• Minimum 2 years of recent OB/GYN experience
• EPIC EMR experience required
