About the Position
A nationally accredited cancer care program in Davenport is seeking a Board Eligible or Board Certified Medical Physicist to join a collaborative Radiation Oncology team. This full-time role offers the opportunity to work with advanced treatment technologies while ensuring high-quality, safe, and effective patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide therapeutic radiological physics support for Radiation Oncology treatments
- Ensure equipment safety, participate in patient-specific QA, chart QA, linear accelerator QA, and plan checks
- Calibrate and commission linear accelerators and other radiation sources
- Implement new technologies and support treatment procedures including SRS, SBRT, IMRT, DIBH, gating, SGRT, and 3D Conformal
- Collaborate with radiation oncologists, dosimetrists, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members
- Participate in teaching and mentoring in accordance with regulatory standards
- Work with two linear accelerators: TomoTherapy Hi-Art and Varian TrueBeam; use Aria, Eclipse, and Tomoplan for planning
- Contribute to a team treating approximately 35 patients per day
Practice Environment:
- 40 hours per week, with 1:2 on-call rotation, no weekend schedule
- Clinic-based, team-oriented environment

Qualification
- MS or PhD in Radiology/Radiological Sciences – Required
- Board Certified/Board Eligible in Therapeutic Medical Physics – Required
- US Board Eligible (with plans to become Board Certified) or Board Certified by ABR or ABMP – Required
- Iowa Radiation Therapy Physicist registration (or willingness to obtain) – Required
- Iowa license (or willingness to obtain) – Required
- Clean malpractice history – Required
- Most recent NPDB Self Query Report (within 30 days) – Required
- Open to candidates graduating in 2025 who will become Board Eligible upon completion
- Not open to Locums or 1099 candidates
- Not accepting visa candidates
