About the Position

An excellent locum opportunity for a Board-Certified Cardiothoracic Surgeon is available in Pennsylvania. This position offers a mix of weekday surgical coverage and shared call responsibilities in a well-supported inpatient environment.

This opportunity is ideal for surgeons experienced in complex cardiothoracic procedures who are looking for consistent monthly coverage in a collaborative surgical program.

📍 Position Highlights

• Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• Call: Weeknight call rotation and every other weekend
• Setting: Inpatient hospital setting
• Minimum Commitment: 2 weeks per month
• Credentialing Timeline: Approximately 60–90 days

🏥 Clinical Responsibilities

The physician will provide surgical care and inpatient coverage for cardiothoracic patients, including:

• Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting (CABG)
• Aortic and Mitral Valve Replacement or Repair
• Ascending Aortic Root Procedures
• Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR)
• Lung and Lobectomy Procedures
• Mediastinoscopy

Robotic surgery experience is preferred but not required.

⏰ Call Responsibilities

• Shared weeknight call rotation
• Every other weekend call with rounding responsibilities
• Call rotation schedule coordinated among providers

💻 Practice Details

• Practice Setting: Inpatient surgical program
• EMR System: Epic
• Collaborative surgical team and support staff

✔ Requirements

• Board Certified in Cardiothoracic Surgery
• ACLS and BLS certifications (American Heart Association)
• Active Pennsylvania medical license strongly preferred
• Experience performing advanced cardiothoracic procedures
