About the Position
A healthcare facility in Ontario, Oregon is seeking a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) for an urgent locum coverage opportunity supporting neonatal services and NICU care. This assignment offers the opportunity to work in a hospital environment providing specialized care for newborns while collaborating with an experienced neonatal and obstetric care team.
The role includes 24-hour call coverage with rounding responsibilities, managing neonatal admissions, and supporting high-risk deliveries. The provider will work within a Level II NICU setting, ensuring safe and effective care for newborn patients requiring specialized monitoring and treatment.
Responsibilities include managing neonatal admissions, performing rounds and discharge planning, assisting with high-risk deliveries, and performing procedures such as intubation and umbilical venous catheter (UVC) line placement. The provider will also utilize EPIC EMR for documentation and patient management.
The initial required coverage period begins July 16 at 8:00 AM through July 19 at 8:00 AM, with additional coverage opportunities available for extended shifts if needed.
This opportunity is ideal for a board-certified Neonatal Nurse Practitioner seeking a focused locum assignment in a collaborative hospital setting with an experienced neonatal care team.
Requirements
Board Certified Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NCC Certification required)
• Active Oregon medical license highly preferred (providers with license in hand prioritized)
• Must be available to cover July 16 (8 AM) – July 19 (8 AM)
• Most recent NPDB Self-Query Report dated within 30 days required at presentation
• Ability to provide neonatal care in a Level II NICU environment
• Experience managing high-risk deliveries and neonatal procedures
• Proficiency in neonatal airway management including intubation and UVC line placement
