About the Position

We are seeking a full-time Hospitalist Physician (MD/DO) to join a collaborative, mission-driven medical team serving a rural population across multiple states. This role focuses on delivering high-quality, patient-centered inpatient care within a supportive interdisciplinary environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct inpatient medical care, including admissions, daily rounding, and discharges

  • Evaluate, diagnose, and manage a wide range of acute and chronic medical conditions

  • Participate in code management and ventilator support

  • Collaborate with specialists, nurses, respiratory therapists, and ancillary staff to coordinate care plans

  • Order, interpret, and act on laboratory and diagnostic studies

  • Document all patient encounters, care plans, and outcomes in the EMR

  • Participate in hospital committees, quality initiatives, and clinical rounds

  • Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses and treatment plans

  • Work 12-hour day shifts with rotating call and weekend coverage

Requirements

  • MD or DO from an accredited medical school

  • Board-Certified or Board-Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine

  • Active Vermont medical license

  • Current DEA registration

  • BLS and ACLS certifications

  • Experience in ventilator management and code response

  • 2–3 years hospitalist experience preferred

  • Clean malpractice history

  • Strong communication, teamwork, and patient-care skills
