About the Position

Provide inpatient and call coverage for orthopedic surgery patients at Waterloo, IA 50701 and Cedar Falls, IA. The role focuses on emergent and consultative care for patients of all ages, including trauma, infections, tumors, deformities, and degenerative conditions of the musculoskeletal system. Responsibilities include admissions, evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and surgical consultation, as well as care in intensive care settings per unit policies. No clinic responsibilities are required.

Shift Timings:

• On-call coverage only:

  • August 5 (7 AM) – August 10 (7 AM)

  • October 26 (7 AM) – November 6 (7 AM)

• Coverage at both Waterloo and Cedar Falls facilities

• Emergency and inpatient orthopedic call coverage

Requirements

• Board Certified in Orthopedic Surgery

• Active Iowa License or Active IMLC (LOQ required at time of name clear)

• Fellowship Trained in Orthopedic Surgery

• Experienced in independent orthopedic care

• Available for both specified shift blocks

• Clean Malpractice and Background History (NPDB pulled within 30–90 days)
