About the Position

A healthcare facility in Waterloo, IA is seeking a Locum Hematology Oncologist to provide outpatient-focused oncology care with limited inpatient consultation responsibilities. The physician will manage oncology and hematology patients through consults, follow-up visits, and treatment oversight, ensuring high-quality care for adult patients.

Responsibilities include overseeing the administration of antineoplastic therapies, performing bone marrow biopsies, and managing infusion-related treatments such as IV IgG, iron therapy, and phlebotomies. The provider will work alongside a multidisciplinary team including nurses, APPs, and support staff while utilizing EPIC EMR in a well-supported oncology clinic environment.

Shift Timings:

• Monday – Thursday schedule (most weeks)
• 8-hour shifts
• Clinic hours: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
• Occasional phone-only call coverage possible

Requirements

• Board Certified in Hematology and Oncology

• Fellowship Trained in Hematology and Oncology

• Active Iowa Medical License or IMLC eligibility

• Ability to perform bone marrow biopsies

• Recent NPDB Self-Query report required

• Clean malpractice and background history
