About the Position

A healthcare facility in Des Moines, IA is seeking a Locum to Perm Gastroenterologist to provide inpatient gastroenterology coverage in a hospital-based setting. The physician will manage adult patients requiring advanced GI care, perform endoscopic procedures, and provide consultative services for hospitalized patients.

Responsibilities include performing ERCP procedures and additional endoscopic services, managing inpatient cases, and conducting a small number of outpatient procedures alongside inpatient consults. The physician will work within a collaborative hospital environment utilizing Cerner EMR to support efficient clinical workflows.

Shift Timings:

• 24-hour call coverage
• 7:00 AM – 7:00 AM
• Assignment starting October 2025 with ongoing coverage

Requirements

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Gastroenterology

• Active Iowa Medical License or IMLC eligibility

• ACLS Certification

• ERCP procedure experience required

• EUS experience preferred

• Recent NPDB Self-Query report required

• Clean malpractice and background history
