About the Position

A healthcare facility in Des Moines, IA is seeking a Locum Gastroenterologist to provide inpatient gastroenterology coverage. The physician will manage gastrointestinal conditions, perform advanced endoscopic procedures, and collaborate with APPs to support inpatient rounds.

The role includes performing colonoscopy, EUS, and ERCP procedures while managing a moderate inpatient census with APP support. The physician will work within a modern hospital environment utilizing EPIC EMR, providing high-quality care to patients requiring specialized gastroenterology services.

Shift Timings:

• 24-hour call coverage
• On-site coverage required during part of call
• Coverage Dates: June 12 – June 19
• Additional ongoing dates may be available

Requirements

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Gastroenterology

• Fellowship Trained in Gastroenterology

• Active Iowa Medical License or IMLC eligibility

• Proficiency in EUS and ERCP procedures

• Clean malpractice and background history

• Recent NPDB report required
