About the Position

A flexible locum opportunity is available for a Nurse Practitioner specializing in General Medicine to perform Compensation & Pension (C&P) exams and Separation Health Assessments for U.S. Veterans. This role focuses on evaluation-based services rather than ongoing clinical treatment, making it ideal for providers seeking structured, non-treatment patient interactions.

The exams are primarily interview-based, with limited physical assessments such as range of motion testing and muscle strength evaluation. Providers are responsible for documenting findings and completing detailed medical reports after each examination.

This position operates on a PRN basis with flexible scheduling, allowing providers to work half-day or full-day shifts depending on availability. Providers must conduct exams from their own office location, which should be within the required proximity of the service area.

Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting Compensation & Pension medical evaluations
  • Performing structured patient interviews and focused physical assessments
  • Evaluating respiratory and cardiovascular conditions
  • Completing accurate medical documentation and exam reports
  • Providing medical opinions or addendums when necessary
  • Ensuring timely submission of evaluation documentation

The current need is for coverage two days per week in the Fort Polk, Louisiana area, and providers must have their own office space available for patient appointments.

This role offers quick credentialing, consistent exam-based work, and the opportunity to support the health evaluation process for U.S. Veterans.
