About the Position

A national healthcare services organization is seeking General Medicine Physicians to perform Compensation & Pension (C&P) exams and Separation Health Assessments for veterans on a PRN basis. This opportunity offers a flexible schedule and a unique chance to support those who have served the country.

Physicians will conduct non-treatment medical disability evaluations that are primarily interview-based with limited physical assessments. This role does not involve prescribing medications or providing ongoing patient treatment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform Compensation & Pension (C&P) exams and Separation Health Assessments for veterans.
  • Conduct interview-based evaluations with focused physical assessments.
  • Assess range of motion and muscle strength as part of the exam process.
  • Complete required documentation and submit medical reports following evaluations.
  • Review diagnostics and complete occasional follow-up administrative documentation such as addendums or medical opinions.
  • Maintain accurate records using the provided evaluation system.

Current Opportunity:

  • Pierre, South Dakota – 1 day per week coverage needed
  • Physicians must operate from their own medical office located within 50 miles of the city.

Requirements

  • Active and unrestricted medical license.
  • Background in General Medicine, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Orthopedic Surgery.
  • Experience or willingness to perform Compensation & Pension examinations.
  • Proficiency in METs testing and evaluation of respiratory and cardiovascular conditions.
  • Must own a laptop (non-Apple/Mac device) for documentation and reporting.
  • Must be willing to complete DMA training and certification.
  • AANP certification required where applicable.
  • NPDB Self-Query report (within 30 days) required at submission.
  • Must have an established medical office within 50 miles of the coverage area.
