About the Position

A well-established free-standing cancer center in Muskegon, Michigan is seeking full-time Locum Radiation Oncologists to provide ongoing coverage beginning February 2026. This opportunity allows physicians to work in a collaborative oncology environment with strong clinical support and manageable patient volumes.

The incoming physician will share the patient load with an internal physician while participating in daily clinical operations and radiation treatment planning. This position offers a structured weekday schedule with shared call coverage.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide full-time Radiation Oncology coverage in a free-standing cancer center.
  • Work alongside another Radiation Oncologist and experienced clinical support staff.
  • Manage 10–15 outpatient visits per day with adult patients.
  • Perform consults, treatment planning, and on-treatment patient care.
  • Participate in shared 24-hour call coverage (1:2 ratio).
  • Utilize advanced radiation therapy techniques including:
    • Conventional Radiotherapy

    • 3D Radiotherapy

    • External Beam Radiation Therapy (3D-CRT, IGRT, IMRT)

    • Stereotactic Radiosurgery

    • Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy (SBRT)

    • Fractionated Stereotactic Radiotherapy

  • Oversee daily clinical operations and coordinate treatment plans.
  • Order diagnostic tests and imaging while prescribing radiation treatment plans.
  • Work within Aria and EPIC EMR systems for documentation and patient management.

Requirements

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Radiation Oncology.
  • Active Michigan medical license or IMLC/Letter of Qualification required.
  • BLS certification required.
  • Clean malpractice and background history required.
  • NPDB Self-Query report (within 30 days) required at submission.
  • Must be available to provide full-time ongoing locum coverage starting in 2026.
  • Experience with advanced radiation therapy techniques and treatment planning preferred.
