About the Position

Seeking a General Surgeon for a locum opportunity in Pendleton, Oregon, providing care in both acute care and clinic settings. Responsibilities include clinic patient care, performing surgeries (including cholecystectomy, hernia repair, appendectomy, breast excision, EGD, colonoscopy, hemorrhoidectomy, and abdominal wall repairs), trauma response in the ED, and post-operative management. The role involves collaboration with hospital and clinic staff, using Meditech in the hospital and eCW in the clinic, and requires readiness to handle emergency surgeries and trauma activations.

The position offers exposure to a varied surgical caseload (~500 surgeries/year, 75% outpatient), inpatient admissions, and trauma cases, providing a dynamic environment for locum physicians.

Shift Timings:

• Monday–Friday: Clinic 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
• OR surgeries: Variable, 7:30 a.m.–4:00 p.m.
• 24-hour on-call coverage for hospital while on assignment
• Saturday/Sunday: On call 24 hours as scheduled

Requirements

• Board Certified in General Surgery
• Oregon State Medical License (or in-process acceptable)
• Completion of Residency/Fellowship
• ACLS, BLS, DEA
• Clean malpractice and license history
• NPDB Self-Query within 30 days
