About the Position
A well-established Level I Trauma hospital in Hartford, Connecticut is seeking a Board-Certified Hematology/Oncology Physician for a 6–12 month locum assignment with potential for extension. This opportunity offers a balanced mix of inpatient consults and outpatient clinic coverage within a collaborative and highly respected medical group.
Schedule & Assignment Details:
- 3–4 clinic days per week (Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM)
- Infrequent night call (1:10 rotation)
- Weekend call approximately 2–3 weekends per year
- Assignment length: 6 months to 1 year (extension possible)
- Estimated credentialing timeframe: approximately 130 days
Practice Highlights:
- Adult & Geriatric patient population
- 80% Hematology / 20% Oncology (No Internal Medicine)
- 10 Physicians and 8 APPs in practice
- Average daily census: 10 hospital patients / 15 outpatient visits
- EPIC EMR system
- Level I Trauma Center environment
- Reason for coverage: Leave of Absence
Requirements
All required items must be submitted at time of presentation:
- Board Certified in Hematology/Oncology – Required
- Active Connecticut Medical License (in hand at submission – no exceptions) – Required
- Self-Query NPDB report (dated within the same month as submission) – Required
- Local candidates highly preferred (no flights)
- Clean malpractice/background history
- Willingness to accept conversion terms
