About the Position

A respected regional health system in Syracuse is seeking a Board-Certified Anatomic Pathologist (AP) for a Locum-to-Perm Pathology position. This is a high-volume, hospital-based lab opportunity offering excellent daily compensation and long-term stability.

• Position: Locum to Perm – Physician – Pathology

• Location: Syracuse, NY

• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

• Call: None

• Coverage Duration: 3–6 Months

• Credentialing Timeframe: 40–45 Days

• Setting: Hospital-Based Pathology Lab (CLIA & NYS Certified)

• EMR: EPIC / Beaker

• Trauma Level: III

Clinical Responsibilities:

• General Anatomic Pathology

• Surgical Pathology (~13,000 cases annually)

• Cytology (~3,000 cases annually)

• Frozen section analysis (cutting on cryostat required)

• Grossing own specimens

• ThinPrep methodology

Lab Support:

• 4 Pathologists onsite

• 5 Histotechnologists

• 1 Pathology Assistant

• 2 Cytotechnologists

• No supervisory duties

• Other pathologists present during coverage

Requirements

• AP Board Certified – REQUIRED

• Active New York State Medical License – REQUIRED

• Self-Query NPDB report (dated within the same month as submission) – REQUIRED

• Willingness to convert to permanent
