About the Position

A 202-bed regional hospital in Petoskey, Michigan is seeking a Locum Gastroenterologist for ongoing 2026 coverage. This is a hospital-based role offering weekday daytime hours with 24-hour weekend call only — no weekday night call required.

Schedule

  • Monday–Friday: 7:00 AM – 4:30 PM
  • 24-hour weekend call (Saturday & Sunday)
  • No weeknight call

Practice Details

  • ERCP required
  • Hospital-based clinic setting
  • Average volume:
    • 18 outpatient scopes/day

    • 20 inpatient scopes/day

  • Endoscopy coverage and inpatient consults during daytime hours
  • Support team includes 2 physicians and 2 APPs
  • Onsite lab and X-ray services
  • EMR: Cerner
  • Reverse invoicing (DocTime clock-in/out system)

 

Requirements

  • Board Certified in Gastroenterology (Truly BE considered) – Required
  • Completed Fellowship with minimum 2–3 years of experience – Required
  • ERCP proficiency – Required
  • Active Michigan License & CSR at submission – Required
  • ACLS Certification – Required
  • Active DEA (verbal confirmation at name clear) – Required
  • NPDB Self-Query (within 30 days) – Required
  • Clean background with no significant malpractice actions – Required
  • COVID vaccination – Required
  • Local candidates only (driving distance) – Required
  • IMLC accepted only if need is 60+ days out with LOQ
