About the Position

A 399-bed acute tertiary care hospital in Bay City, Michigan is seeking a Locum Gastroenterologist for ongoing 24-hour call coverage throughout 2026. This is a weekday-only assignment with no weekend call requirements.

Schedule

• Monday 7:00 AM – Friday 7:00 PM

  • Monday–Thursday: 24-hour call (7:00 AM – 7:00 AM)

  • Friday: 12-hour coverage (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)

• No weekend call

Specific Coverage Dates

• July 27, 2026 – July 31, 2026
• December 28, 2026 – January 1, 2027
• Ongoing 2026 coverage opportunities available

Practice Details

• 24-hour call model with structured in-house and night call components
• ERCP required
• Hospitalist support in place
• Two colorectal surgeons in the community
• GI clinic located less than half a mile from the hospital
• Reverse billing system (Doc Time clock-in/out required)

Requirements

• Board Certified in Gastroenterology (Truly Board Eligible considered) – Required
• Active Michigan Medical License – Required

  • IMLC accepted only if dates are 60+ days out with proof of LOQ

• ERCP proficiency – Required
• Active DEA – Required by start date
• Clean malpractice history – Required (no exceptions)
• NPDB Self-Query (within 30 days of presentation) – Required
• Ability to meet employee health and credentialing requirements
• Local providers preferred (flights not covered)
