About the Position

A premier, full-service acute care hospital in Ypsilanti, Michigan is seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner / Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) to join its collaborative Neonatology team in a Level III NICU. This is a permanent placement opportunity within a nationally respected health system known for clinical excellence and compassionate, patient-centered care.

This role offers a team-based, physician-led practice environment providing specialized inpatient care to premature and critically ill newborns. Both experienced providers and truly board-eligible new graduates are encouraged to apply.

Position Highlights

  • Practice in a Level III NICU with advanced neonatal capabilities
  • Provide comprehensive inpatient neonatal care
  • Structured, collaborative model (not autonomous practice)
  • Epic EMR system
  • No call requirements
  • Varied shift schedule including 24-hour, 10-hour, and 8-hour shifts
  • Weekend rotation as part of inpatient scheduling

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform neonatal assessments, daily rounds, and ongoing management of high-risk and premature infants
  • Collaborate closely with Neonatologists for care planning and treatment management
  • Participate in multidisciplinary rounds
  • Provide stabilization and management of critically ill newborns
  • Educate and counsel families regarding neonatal conditions and care plans
  • Maintain accurate documentation in Epic EMR
  • Adhere to hospital quality, safety, and compliance standards

 

Requirements

  • Board Certified (or truly board eligible by start date) as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) – Required
  • Successful completion of an accredited NNP program – Required
  • Active Michigan Nurse Practitioner License – Required
  • BLS Certification – Required
  • NRP Certification – Required
  • Ability to work varied 24-, 10-, and 8-hour shifts – Required
  • EMR experience (Epic preferred) – Highly Preferred
  • Clean malpractice and license history – Required
  • Most recent NPDB Self-Query (within 30 days) – Required at presentation
  • Willingness to complete a 3–4 month credentialing process – Required
  • No visa sponsorship available
  • Not accepting locums providers
