About the Position
A premier, full-service acute care hospital in Ypsilanti, Michigan is seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner / Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) to join its collaborative Neonatology team in a Level III NICU. This is a permanent placement opportunity within a nationally respected health system known for clinical excellence and compassionate, patient-centered care.
This role offers a team-based, physician-led practice environment providing specialized inpatient care to premature and critically ill newborns. Both experienced providers and truly board-eligible new graduates are encouraged to apply.
Position Highlights
- Practice in a Level III NICU with advanced neonatal capabilities
- Provide comprehensive inpatient neonatal care
- Structured, collaborative model (not autonomous practice)
- Epic EMR system
- No call requirements
- Varied shift schedule including 24-hour, 10-hour, and 8-hour shifts
- Weekend rotation as part of inpatient scheduling
Key Responsibilities
- Perform neonatal assessments, daily rounds, and ongoing management of high-risk and premature infants
- Collaborate closely with Neonatologists for care planning and treatment management
- Participate in multidisciplinary rounds
- Provide stabilization and management of critically ill newborns
- Educate and counsel families regarding neonatal conditions and care plans
- Maintain accurate documentation in Epic EMR
- Adhere to hospital quality, safety, and compliance standards
Requirements
- Board Certified (or truly board eligible by start date) as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) – Required
- Successful completion of an accredited NNP program – Required
- Active Michigan Nurse Practitioner License – Required
- BLS Certification – Required
- NRP Certification – Required
- Ability to work varied 24-, 10-, and 8-hour shifts – Required
- EMR experience (Epic preferred) – Highly Preferred
- Clean malpractice and license history – Required
- Most recent NPDB Self-Query (within 30 days) – Required at presentation
- Willingness to complete a 3–4 month credentialing process – Required
- No visa sponsorship available
- Not accepting locums providers
