Coverage at two affiliated medical centers (Waterloo & Cedar Falls locations)

Average daily census: 10–20 patients (combined locations)

Patient population: All ages

EMR: Epic Enterprise

No outpatient clinic duties

No APP supervision required
Scope of Practice
-
Perform history & physical exams, admissions, evaluations, diagnosis, treatment, and consultations
-
Manage conditions including trauma, infections, tumors, musculoskeletal deformities, degenerative diseases, and injuries involving spine, hands, feet, knee, hip, shoulder, and elbow
-
Provide surgical and non-surgical orthopedic care
-
Participate in ICU care as appropriate per unit policy
-
Respond to emergent consults and call services in accordance with medical staff policies
Requirements
- Board Certified in Orthopedic Surgery (Required)
- Fellowship Trained in Orthopedic Surgery (Required)
- Active Iowa Medical License or Active IMLC (LOQ required at name clear)
- Must be experienced
- Must be available to cover the listed shift blocks
- Clean malpractice and background history (NPDB required within last 30–90 days)
- Ability to meet medical staff credentialing requirements
