About the Position

🧬 Locum Hematology / Oncology Physician
📍 Job Location: Oregan

✨ An excellent locums opportunity is available for a Board-Certified Hematology/Oncology physician to join a collaborative cancer care team in a coastal community. This role offers consistent outpatient-focused work with strong specialty support.

🏥 Facility Setting

• Outpatient, free-standing cancer center

• Community-based medical environment

• Trauma Level III support

• Integrated oncology services with on-site radiation oncology

🩺 Practice Overview

• Coverage Need: ASAP & ongoing

• Minimum availability: 2 weeks per month (required)

• Schedule: 4–5 days per week, 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM

• Optional admin day or half-day as needed

• Call: 1:4 rotation, including one weekend

• Call covers outpatient patients; inpatient rounding only when chemo patients are admitted

Requirements

👩‍⚕️ Clinical Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive medical oncology and hematology care

• Patient mix: ~80% oncology / 20% hematology

• Focus on timely evaluation of new solid tumor diagnoses

• Average clinic volume: 10–15 patients/day

• Collaborate closely with radiation oncology and APPs

• EMR: Epic

🤝 Team & Support

• Physicians in practice: 3

• APP support: 2

• Radiation oncologists available on site

• Lodging coordinated by the site

✅ Requirements

• Board Certified in BOTH Hematology & Oncology

• Active Oregon license (or willingness to obtain)

• Clean background and malpractice history preferred

• Meets medical staff or allied health professional criteria

• NPDB self-query required at submission

• DEA required
