About the Position

🩺 Locums Hematologist Oncologist Opportunity
📍 Job Location: Des Moines

✨ We’re seeking an experienced Hematologist Oncologist (Locums) to provide comprehensive inpatient and clinic coverage in a well-supported medical setting.

📅 Schedule & Coverage

• 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off (with call)

• 4–5 days per week coverage

• Clinic Hours: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

• Patient Contact Hours: 6/day

• On Call: Yes (schedule TBD)

• Telehealth: May be required in addition to inpatient duties

🏥 Facility Setting

• Hospital-based inpatient practice with clinic support

• Inpatient coverage across two hospital campuses

• Strong ancillary services and interdisciplinary support

Requirements

👩‍⚕️ Practice Details

• Daily Clinic Volume: 10–30 patients

• Average Inpatient Census: 10–15

• Appointment Times:

  • New Consults: 40 minutes

  • Follow-ups: 20 minutes

• Nursing Support: 1:1

• APP Supervision: Not required

• EMR: Epic

🧬 Scope of Services

• Patient assessments & new treatment plans

• Ongoing and adjusted therapy management

• Chemotherapy and pain management

• End-of-life care coordination

• Referrals for ancillary services
  (Radiation & surgical oncology supported by established partner teams)
  
  

  ✅ Requirements

  • Board Certified or Truly Board Eligible in Hematology & Oncology

  • Fellowship Trained in Hematology & Oncology

  • Active Iowa license or IMLC with LOQ

  • Proven, hands-on experience required

  • Willingness to work across both locations

  • Clean malpractice & background history
