🏥 Facility Setting

Multi-site acute care hospital & oncology clinic setting with inpatient and outpatient hematology/oncology services, supported by imaging, lab, pharmacy, and dedicated nursing staff.

🌟 Opportunity Overview

We are seeking an experienced Hematology & Oncology Physician for a Locum-to-Permanent opportunity covering inpatient and clinic services across two hospital campuses in the Des Moines area.

This role offers a balanced rotation schedule with meaningful patient volume, strong clinical support, and the opportunity to transition into a long-term permanent position.

⏰ Schedule Highlights

• 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off

• Clinic hours: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

• Mix of inpatient coverage and clinic days

• On-call responsibilities included (schedule finalized in advance)

• Telehealth may be incorporated alongside inpatient duties

Requirements

🧬 Clinical Scope

• Medical Hematology & Oncology coverage

• Inpatient census: ~10–15 patients/day

• Clinic volume: ~10–30 patients/day

• Consults, treatment planning, chemotherapy management

• Pain management and end-of-life care

• Collaborative oncology services with established specialists

• EPIC EMR

🎯 Candidate Profile

• Board Certified or Truly Board Eligible Hematology & Oncology

• Fellowship trained

• Comfortable covering multiple hospital locations

• Strong inpatient and clinic experience
