About the Position

A hospital-based practice in Bismarck is seeking a Board-Certified Gastroenterology Physician for 24-hour on-call locum coverage.

This is a solo GI coverage assignment (no clinic duties) providing hospital call, inpatient consults, rounding, and endoscopic procedures. The incoming provider will not supervise other healthcare professionals and will not have additional GI physician support during coverage.

🗓 Coverage Dates:

• November 23–29 (ending morning of November 30)
• December 23–January 3 (ending morning of January 4)

⏰ Schedule:

• 24-hour call (7:00 AM – 7:00 AM)
• In-house coverage approximately 8 hours daily (rounding + procedures)
• Holiday call opportunities available

🏥 Practice Setting:

• Hospital & call coverage only (No clinic)
• EMR: Epic
• Credentialing timeframe: 60–90 days

📊 Volume Expectations:

• 1–2 scopes per day
• 1–2 new consults per day
• 5–6 patients rounded per day
• ERCP volume: 1–2 per week
• Endoscopy support includes RNs and CRNAs
• No NP support
• Locum works independently

Requirements

• Board Certified in Gastroenterology – Required
• Active State License (Pending accepted; IMLC considered)
• BLS Certification
• DEA License
• Clean malpractice history preferred
• Self-Query NPDB report (dated within 30 days of presentation) – Required
• Case logs required at presentation and offer stage
• Experience in general GI required
