About the Position

A well-established community healthcare system in southeastern Vermont is seeking a compassionate and skilled Oncology Physician to join their outpatient oncology team. This part-time opportunity (~24 hours/week) allows you to provide personalized, patient-centered cancer care while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of specialists.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and stage cancers using clinical assessments, imaging, and labs.

  • Develop and manage individualized treatment plans, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and targeted therapies.

  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment protocols as needed.

  • Manage treatment-related side effects and provide supportive care.

  • Educate and counsel patients and families about diagnosis, treatment options, and outcomes.

  • Collaborate with surgeons, radiologists, nurses, and other oncology staff for coordinated care.

  • Participate in clinical trials, research initiatives, and quality improvement projects.

  • Mentor healthcare staff in oncology practices.

  • Contribute to departmental planning and efficiency initiatives.

Requirements

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Oncology – required.

  • Active Vermont medical license or ability to obtain prior to start – required.

  • Clean malpractice history – required.

  • Completion of an accredited oncology residency program in the U.S. or Canada – required.

  • Part-time commitment (~24 hours/week) with availability for rotating call and weekends
