About the Position

A hospital-based cancer center in Coos Bay is seeking a Board-Certified Hematologist/Oncologist for locum coverage. This assignment supports both outpatient and inpatient care due to physician retirements and relocations.

Shift & Schedule:

• 4 or 5 days per week, 8:30 am – 4:30 pm (clinic & hospital)

• Administrative day or half day as needed

• Weekend call: 1 weekend per month

• Minimum 2 weeks per month, ongoing

Practice Details:

• Outpatient clinic: 10–15 patients/day

• Hospital: rounding for admitted chemo patients

• 3 physicians currently in practice, 2 APPs support coverage

• EPIC EMR system

• Clinic focus: ~80% oncology, ~20% hematology

• Call schedule: 1 in 4 rotation, including night/weekend call

• Trauma Level 3

Requirements

• Board-Certified in both Hematology and Oncology – Required

• Active Oregon license preferred 

• Clean background / no malpractice – highly preferred

• DEA confirmation – required at name clear

• Self-Query NPDB (within 30 days) – Required
