About the Position
A well-established healthcare provider in Rome, NY is seeking a full-time Hospitalist (MD or DO) to join a collaborative inpatient team. This role offers the opportunity to provide high-quality patient care in a community-focused hospital with excellent sub-specialty support and a manageable patient load.
Key responsibilities include:
- Provide inpatient care on a 7-on / 7-off schedule (7 AM – 7 PM)
- Manage daily rounds on assigned patients (average 12–15 per physician)
- Admit patients and manage rapid responses/codes
- Collaborate with intensivists in an open ICU setting with 24/7 consultation support
- Conduct patient assessments, histories, physicals, and documentation using EMR
- Coordinate with attending physicians, specialists, and hospital staff for high-quality care
- Participate in a hospitalist team collectively managing 40–50 patients per day
- No on-call duties
- Work in a non-trauma designated hospital with strong infrastructure
Note: New graduates are eligible (BE accepted), but candidates must be Board Certified within 2 years of contract start. Locums, visa candidates, and 1099 contractors are not accepted.
Requirements
- Board Eligible or Board Certified in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine (BE accepted if new graduate, must be certified within 2 years)
- Active or eligible New York medical license
- Clean malpractice and license history
- Most recent NPDB Self Query Report (within 30 days)
- DEA, BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
- Comfortable working in an open ICU with intensivist support
- Able to commit to full-time, 7-on / 7-off schedule
