About the Position

A well-established healthcare provider in Rome, NY is seeking a full-time Hospitalist (MD or DO) to join a collaborative inpatient team. This role offers the opportunity to provide high-quality patient care in a community-focused hospital with excellent sub-specialty support and a manageable patient load.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Provide inpatient care on a 7-on / 7-off schedule (7 AM – 7 PM)
  • Manage daily rounds on assigned patients (average 12–15 per physician)
  • Admit patients and manage rapid responses/codes
  • Collaborate with intensivists in an open ICU setting with 24/7 consultation support
  • Conduct patient assessments, histories, physicals, and documentation using EMR
  • Coordinate with attending physicians, specialists, and hospital staff for high-quality care
  • Participate in a hospitalist team collectively managing 40–50 patients per day
  • No on-call duties
  • Work in a non-trauma designated hospital with strong infrastructure

Note: New graduates are eligible (BE accepted), but candidates must be Board Certified within 2 years of contract start. Locums, visa candidates, and 1099 contractors are not accepted.

 

Requirements

  • Board Eligible or Board Certified in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine (BE accepted if new graduate, must be certified within 2 years)
  • Active or eligible New York medical license
  • Clean malpractice and license history
  • Most recent NPDB Self Query Report (within 30 days)
  • DEA, BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
  • Comfortable working in an open ICU with intensivist support
  • Able to commit to full-time, 7-on / 7-off schedule
