About the Position

We are seeking a Board-Certified General Surgeon for a locum opportunity in Pendleton, Oregon, providing a balanced mix of acute care hospital coverage and outpatient clinic services. Responsibilities include scheduled and emergent surgeries, inpatient admissions, post-operative rounding, consultations, and trauma response in the ED. The surgeon will practice as a core member of the medical staff, covering both clinic and hospital responsibilities.

The practice averages 10 surgeries per week (majority outpatient), 14–16 clinic patients per day, and approximately 2 inpatient admissions weekly. Required procedures include colonoscopy (diagnostic and screening), cholecystectomy, appendectomy, hernia repair with mesh, EGD, breast and skin excisions, abdominal wall repair, and hemorrhoidectomy. EMR systems include Meditech (hospital) and eCW (clinic), with full clinical support staff in place.

Shift Timings:

• Monday–Friday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM clinic
• OR days begin at 7:30 AM (varies by day)
• 24-hour call coverage while on assignment
• 7–10 day block schedule
• Weekend call included

Requirements

• Board Certified in General Surgery
• Active Oregon Medical License (or currently in process)
• Completion of General Surgery Residency
• ACLS & BLS certifications
• Active DEA License
• Self-Query NPDB report (within 30 days)
