About the Position

Position Overview

The Nocturnist Hospitalist will provide comprehensive overnight inpatient care in a well-supported hospital setting with strong specialty backup. This role is ideal for physicians who thrive in acute care environments and prefer a structured night schedule with built-in work-life balance.

Schedule Details

• Full-time permanent position

• 7-on / 7-off rotation

• 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)

• Weekends included as part of rotation

• No additional on-call requirements beyond scheduled shifts

• EPIC EMR

Key Responsibilities

• Provide overnight inpatient care and admissions

• Perform comprehensive history & physical examinations

• Manage hospitalized patients throughout the night

• Conduct closed ICU rounding on Hospitalist patients

• Monitor and respond to acute changes in patient condition

• Collaborate with subspecialists and multidisciplinary teams

• Coordinate discharge planning and follow-up care

• Maintain accurate documentation in EPIC EMR

• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care aligned with system standards

Requirements

Required Qualifications

• Board Certified or Truly Board Eligible (within 2 years) in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine

• New York Medical License (or willingness to obtain)

• Clean malpractice and license history

• Active DEA

• Most recent NPDB Self-Query Report (within 30 days)

• Prior Hospitalist experience required
