About the Position

A well-established, Commission on Cancer–accredited Cancer Center in Anderson, South Carolina is seeking a fellowship-trained Hematologist/Oncologist to join its growing program. Located in a fast-growing, family-oriented community of approximately 185,000 residents, this opportunity offers both professional fulfillment and exceptional quality of life.

This is a full-time, permanent position with a strong focus on outpatient and clinic care, along with minimal inpatient rounding responsibilities.

Position Highlights:

  • Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM schedule (32 minimum patient contact hours) + call
  • Practice call and inpatient coverage for Oncology patients (no weekends)
  • Approximately 1,200 new cancer cases annually
  • Average 15–25 patients per day
  • Trauma Level II facility
  • State-of-the-art Cancer Center (Commission on Cancer accredited since 1984)
  • On-site Radiation Oncology department
  • 24-bay outpatient infusion center with on-site pharmacist
  • On-site laboratory services
  • EPIC EMR
  • Access to nationwide clinical trials through UC-NCORP
  • Supportive leadership and collegial medical staff

The practice is currently in a rebuilding phase, offering the incoming physician a meaningful opportunity to shape and grow the program.

  • Residency within the immediate local area required (relocation may be necessary)
  • Not open to commuters or secondary employment

  • Candidates with lapsed Board Certification will not be considered

 

Requirements

  • Truly Board Eligible (within 5 years) or Board Certified in Hematology/Medical Oncology – Required

    • Board Certification highly preferred

  • Completed Fellowship in Hematology/Medical Oncology – Required
  • Active South Carolina medical license (or willingness to obtain) – Required
  • Clean malpractice and license history – Required
  • Most recent NPDB Self-Query Report (within 30 days) – Required
  • DEA and CSR/CDS (must be obtained prior to start) – Required
  • Permanent placement interest only
