Opportunity Overview

A well-established community teaching hospital in Massachusetts is seeking Board Certified/Board Eligible Emergency Medicine Physicians for ongoing locum coverage.

The provider will float between two affiliated emergency departments, with the greatest need for morning and night shifts. Priority will be given to physicians with strong availability and an active Massachusetts license.

This is a high-volume, Level III Trauma environment with strong specialty support and APP coverage.

Practice Setting

• Level III Trauma Center

• 32 ED beds

• Annual ER Volume: 55,000

• 30% admission rate

• EMR: Meditech

• APP coverage available

• Admissions handled by hospitalist/admitting service

• Deliveries sent directly to Labor & Delivery

• ED responsible for radio supervision of paramedics

• Required 30-minute response time per bylaws

Shift Details

Varied shift options available:

• 7a–7p

• 7a–3p

• 7p–7a

• 10a–9p

• 1p–9p

• 3p–11p

• 8, 11, and 12-hour shifts available

• Weekend coverage required

• No on-call requirement

Credentialing

• Temporary privileges available

• Estimated credentialing timeframe expedited for qualified candidates

• Hotel reimbursement available

• ABEM Board Certified or Board Eligible (within 5 years of residency) – Required

• Active Massachusetts license – Highly Preferred

• BLS, ACLS, ATLS – Required

• Clean background for expedited credentialing – Required

• Must be local provider (no flights) – Required

• NPDB Self-Query (dated within 30 days of presentation) – Required

• Availability must be provided at name clear
