Opportunity Overview

A regional Maternal Fetal Medicine program is seeking a skilled and compassionate MFM Physician to join a collaborative and growing team. This role offers the opportunity to provide advanced, high-risk obstetric care while working closely with a multidisciplinary group in a supportive clinical environment.

The position is primarily based in Grand Rapids, with occasional regional travel as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide specialized Maternal Fetal Medicine care for high-risk pregnancies and fetal complications

• Serve as a key referral resource for complex obstetric cases

• Collaborate with obstetricians, neonatologists, and other specialists to develop comprehensive care plans

• Participate in education and training of medical students and residents

• Deliver patient-centered, evidence-based care across regional practice locations

• Share on-call responsibilities with MFM partner/Medical Director

  • Mostly phone-based call with hospital visits as required

• Regional practice model with services primarily in Grand Rapids

• Dedicated clinical support including Medical Assistant, Sonographer, and additional staff at all locations

• Existing mix of community and contract providers

• Strong institutional support and established referral network

Candidate Qualifications

• Board Certified in OB/GYN – Required

• Board Certified or truly Board Eligible in Maternal Fetal Medicine

  • Board Eligible candidates must obtain certification within 2 years

• Candidates with lapsed board certification will not be considered

• Permanent candidates only (no locums)

• Active Michigan medical license or willingness to obtain

• BLS and ACLS certification (or willingness to obtain)

• Clean malpractice history preferred
