About the Position

We are seeking a Locum Orthopedic Surgeon in Mason City, IA to provide comprehensive care across inpatient, OR, and trauma settings. The role involves clinical management, surgical procedures including joint replacements, trauma care, and fracture management, as well as supervising advanced practice providers. Providers will work within a collaborative, high-volume orthopedic service with full EMR support and opportunities to engage with residents and PA students.

Shift Timings:

• Clinic: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• 24-hour call coverage including inpatient rounding and follow-ups

Requirements

• Board Certified in Orthopedic Surgery
• Active Iowa medical license or IMLC eligibility
• Clean malpractice and background history
• NPDB self-query report (within last 30 days)
• Ability to cover specific date blocks as required
• Proficient in hip, knee, shoulder replacements, upper/lower extremity surgeries, trauma, fracture care, and sports medicine
