About the Position

full-time Geriatrics Physician is sought to join a well-established geriatrics team in Grand Rapids, Michigan, providing comprehensive care to an aging population across multiple skilled nursing facilities and through an advanced care coordination program.

This role offers a physician-friendly environment with leadership that prioritizes work-life balance, schedule autonomy, and adequate visit lengths to meet the needs of a medically complex geriatric population. Call responsibilities are shared among providers, supporting sustainable coverage.

The position includes the opportunity to teach residents, medical students, and fellows, making it ideal for physicians interested in academic involvement. Both new graduates who have completed a geriatrics fellowship and experienced physicians in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine with geriatrics experience are encouraged to apply.

This is a community-based, long-term opportunity and is not open to commuters, secondary employment, locums, or visa candidates.

 

Requirements

  • Board Certified or Truly Board Eligible in Geriatric Medicine
    OR Board Certified in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine with geriatrics experience
  • If Board Eligible, must become Board Certified within 2 years of eligibility
  • Completion of a Geriatrics Fellowship required for new graduates
  • Experience working with the geriatric population
  • Eligible for Michigan medical licensure
  • DEA, BLS, and ACLS certification (or ability to obtain)
  • Clean malpractice history strongly preferred
  • No lapsed board certification
  • Not open to commuters, locums, secondary employment, or visa sponsorship
