About the Position

high-impact leadership opportunity is available for an experienced Gastroenterologist to serve as Chief of Gastroenterology in Atlantic City, NJ. This role is designed for a physician leader to build and lead a state-of-the-art GI program focused on clinical excellence, research, and education, aligning with a transformative Vision 2030 strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and lead a cutting-edge GI program and academic division
  • Expand advanced GI services, including complex endoscopic procedures, inpatient and outpatient care
  • Recruit, mentor, and lead a multidisciplinary team of GI hospitalists, faculty, fellows, and support staff
  • Serve as a hands-on clinical leader, managing complex GI cases
  • Drive collaboration with other specialties, particularly cancer care, leveraging strategic partnerships with academic institutions
  • Ensure endoscopic block time and manage robust referral volumes from day one
  • Promote workforce development through training, mentoring, and culture-building initiatives
  • Engage with underserved communities to enhance access and reduce disparities
  • Maintain required certifications: BLS, ACLS, DEA, CSR/CDS

Role Requirements:

  • Open only to experienced gastroenterologists (no new graduates)
  • Physician-only role – not open to APPs
  • No 1099 contract, locums, or visa sponsorship candidates
  • Prior leadership experience (program start-up, Chief, or Medical Director) preferred
  • Candidates with a history of malpractice or licensing issues may be considered with limitations

 

Requirements

  • Board Certified in Gastroenterology
  • Active and unrestricted NJ medical license (or willingness to obtain before start)
  • Valid BLS, ACLS, DEA, CSR/CDS certifications (or willingness to obtain before start)
  • Most recent NPDB Self-Query Report (within 30 days)
  • Disclosure of malpractice history, if applicable
  • Proof of COVID and flu vaccination compliance
