About the Position

A full-time Nocturnist is sought to join a well-established, employed hospitalist group in Troy, NY. This is an excellent opportunity for board-eligible or board-certified Internal Medicine or Family Medicine physicians to work in a physician-friendly environment with flexible scheduling, strong system support, and a collaborative team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work 12-hour night shifts (7:00 pm – 7:00 am), 7 on / 7 off
• Manage an average census of 15–18 patients per night
• Run rapid responses and codes; ICU care is handled by ICU team (closed ICU model)
• No procedural requirements
• Collaborate with advanced practice providers (APPs) as part of the team
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation and patient care standards
• Participate in interdisciplinary communication and support quality initiatives
• Support a safe, efficient, and patient-centered hospital environment

Ideal candidates:

• Upcoming 2026 graduates, recent grads, and experienced physicians working toward Board Certification
• Must be truly Board Eligible or Board Certified
• Not accepting candidates with lapsed Board Certification
• Local candidates within 30 miles cannot be cleared
• Locums and visa candidates not accepted

Requirements

• Board Eligible (within 5 years) or Board Certified in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
• New York medical license (or willingness to obtain)
• DEA license (or willingness to obtain)
• Clean malpractice and licensure history preferred
• Most recent NPDB Self Query Report (within 30 days)
