About the Position

🚨 Locum NP / PA – Trauma Hospitalist (Nights)
📍 Minnesota

🩺 Facility Setting: Level I Trauma Center (Adult & Pediatric)

We are actively seeking an experienced Acute Care NP or PA for a locum trauma hospitalist role covering May–July with up to full-time availability.

🔹 Role Overview

✨ Primarily functions as a Trauma Hospitalist Rounder
✨ Intermittent ED consults, trauma activations & procedures
✨ Autonomous practice with 24/7 Trauma Surgeon support
✨ In-house only | No call
✨ Epic EMR

⏰ Schedule

🌙 Night Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
📅 Dates: May–July (ongoing coverage)

👥 Patient Volume

• Non-ICU: 10–14 patients/day
• ICU: ~6 patients/day
• ED/Admissions: 2–15 per 24 hrs

🧠 Responsibilities

✔ Respond to ED trauma alerts
✔ ER admissions & daily rounding
✔ Full medical management of all conditions
✔ Facilitate discharges
✔ No hospitalist service—APP functions at attending level

🛠️ Preferred Procedures

🔹 Vent & non-invasive vent management (BiPAP/CPAP)
🔹 Chest tubes
🔹 Central & arterial lines
🔹 Suturing minor lacerations

Requirements

✅ Requirements

✔ Board Certified ACNP / AGNP / PA-C
✔ No FNPs
✔ Minnesota license (required at submission)
✔ ACLS, ATLS, PALS
✔ DEA (verbal confirmation)
✔ Minimum 1 year inpatient APP experience
✔ Trauma / ICU / Ortho experience strongly preferred
