About the Position

Position Description *

We are seeking an experienced Surgical Podiatrist for a locum tenens opportunity providing inpatient and outpatient coverage in Burnsville and Edina, Minnesota.

This role is primarily hospital-based, focusing on consults, emergent and urgent surgical cases, post-operative rounding, and wound care management. Limited outpatient responsibilities include one post-operative clinic per week.

The provider will review daily consults to determine hospital coverage location and may occasionally start the day at a specific hospital for post-operative follow-ups. This opportunity offers a weekday schedule, no weekend call, and a collaborative, well-supported clinical environment.

Practice Setting: Inpatient & Outpatient
EMR: Epic
Assignment Length: 13–16 weeks (starting May 2026)
FTE: 0.9 FTE (36 hours/week) + call

Schedule:

  • Monday: 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM
  • Tuesday: 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM
  • Wednesday: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (half clinic / half hospital)
  • Thursday: 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM
  • Friday: 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM
  • One weekday night call per week (Monday–Thursday)
  • No weekend call

Requirements

Requirements

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in:

    • American Board of Foot & Ankle Surgery (ABFAS), or

    • American Board of Podiatric Medicine (ABPM)

  • Surgical podiatry experience required
  • Wound care experience strongly preferred
  • BLS and ATLS certifications
  • Active Minnesota license or IMLC eligibility
  • Comfortable managing inpatient consults, surgeries, and post-operative care
  • Ability to work across multiple hospital locations
