Anesthesiologist – Locum or Locum-to-Perm

Galloway, New Jersey | Level II Trauma Center
Start Date: January 2026 – Ongoing

Description

A hospital-based practice in Galloway, NJ is seeking a Board-Certified Anesthesiologist for Locum or Locum-to-Perm coverage beginning January 2026. This role is available due to an open permanent position. Providers must hold an active New Jersey medical license and be comfortable supervising CRNAs in a Level II Trauma environment.
Coverage includes a broad range of anesthetic procedures, including open heart, thoracic (non-open heart), and complex vascular cases.
Cerner EMR is used for documentation.
Bed Size is 323 beds.

💼 Job Responsibilities

  • Provide anesthesia for:

    • General adult surgical cases

    • Open heart anesthesia

    • Thoracic cases (non–open heart)

    • Complex vascular procedures

    • Spinal, regional, IV regional, and plexus anesthesia

    • Local infiltration and ventilation management

  • Perform and manage insertion of:

    • TEE

    • PA catheter

    • Arterial line

    • Central line

  • Supervise CRNAs (required)

  • Participate in weekday, weekend, or night call (optional)

  • Work collaboratively with surgical, nursing, and hospital teams to support safe patient care

🎓 Qualifications

  • Board Certification in Anesthesiology – REQUIRED

  • Active New Jersey Medical License – REQUIRED (no time to wait for licensing)

  • ACLS & BLS (AHA) – REQUIRED

  • Proficiency in open heart, thoracic (non-open heart), and complex vascular anesthesia – REQUIRED

  • Experience with Cerner EMR – Preferred

  • Fellowship in Cardiac Anesthesia – Preferred

  • Strong experience supervising CRNAs – REQUIRED

⏰ Working Hours

  • 8-hour or 12-hour shifts, starting at 7:00 AM

  • Shifts vary based on surgical volume and hospital needs

  • Weekend and night call available but not required

  • Credentialing timeframe: 45–60 days
