Cardiac Anesthesiologist – Albany, NY

Description

Health Partners and Anesthesia Group of Albany, PC, is seeking Board Certified or Board Eligible Cardiac Anesthesiologists to join our well-established private practice in Albany, New York. Our team supports a high-volume inpatient heart center at St. Peter's and Samaritan Hospitals, providing care for complex cardiac surgical procedures.

Our group is the largest anesthesia provider in the Albany-Troy-Saratoga region, serving the community with compassionate, expert care for over 40 years. With three new cardiac surgeons joining St. Peter’s, we are expanding our cardiac anesthesia team.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide anesthesia for cardiac surgical cases including CABG, valve replacements, and other complex cardiac surgeries

  • Cover cases at both St. Peter's Hospital (Albany) and Samaritan Hospital (Troy) campuses

  • Participate in pre-operative evaluations and post-operative care for cardiac patients

  • Collaborate closely with cardiac surgeons, nurses, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams

  • Follow and contribute to anesthesia protocols and quality improvement initiatives

  • Maintain strong communication and compassionate patient care

  • No supervision of CRNAs required

  • Manage a typical day with 6-8 cardiac cases

Qualifications

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Anesthesiology (within 5 years of eligibility) – Required

  • ECHO Board Certified and/or Cardiac Anesthesiology Fellowship-trained (must complete prior to start) – Required

  • NY State Medical License or willingness to obtain – Required

  • Current BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications (or to be obtained prior to start) – Required

  • Cardiac Anesthesiology Fellowship training – Highly preferred

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Open to H-1B visa candidates; not accepting J-1 waivers or locums

Working Hours

  • Variable shifts: 8, 10, or 12 hours

  • Call rotation: 1:5 schedule (first call every eighth night, no second call)

  • Weekend and holiday call shared evenly

Skills

  • Expertise in cardiac anesthesia for adult and geriatric patients (some pediatric cases)

  • Proficiency with complex cardiac surgeries and advanced monitoring including ECHO

  • Team-oriented approach with effective collaboration skills

  • Commitment to quality, safety, and compassionate patient care

Compensation and Benefits

  • Starting salary: $650,000 per year (base; excludes productivity bonuses, incentives, extra shifts, etc.)

  • $100,000 sign-on bonus
