About the Position

Urgent Care Physician | Georgia

Location: Georgia

Schedule: Ongoing PRN shifts. Minimum commitment of 6 to 8 shifts per month. 8 or 12 hour shifts. Common shift options include 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM and 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM.

Position Overview

• Urgent care coverage with a solo provider model supported by medical assistants (some sites may also have nursing support).
• Providers must be willing to float within the local region as needed to cover clinics.

Clinical Details

• Setting: Urgent Care
• Typical cases: general urgent care including testing, imaging as applicable, suturing, EKG reads, and physicals.
• Patient volume: up to 4 patients per hour.
• Ages seen: 2 years and older.
• EMR: Experity (Velocidoc).

Required Qualifications

• Family Practice or Internal Medicine (must be able to see ages 2 plus as required).
• Board certification as applicable.
• DEA required.
• Urgent care experience required.
• NPDB self query required.
• Clean background and clean NPDB history required.
• Candidates must have at least two years of clinical experience within the past five years to qualify.

Travel and Lodging

• Travel and lodging support may be available for consecutive work days. Mileage support may be available based on distance.

Onboarding

• Onboarding and credentialing timeline is typically about one week, plus an in clinic paid shadow shift.
