Locum Physician (MD/DO) - Internal Medicine - General/Other in Washington, DC - Hospitalist Physician and Nurse Practitioner Locums Opportunity Location: Washington, DC (Washington metro) Start: September 1, 2026 and ongoing Schedule: Two physician day shifts 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM. One nurse practitioner day shift 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM. One physician night shift 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM. Block pattern to be confirmed. Openings: 4 Travel and Lodging: Provided Position Overview This acute care hospital is seeking hospital medicine physicians and nurse practitioners for a structured inpatient coverage model including rounding, admissions, and cross coverage. Physicians will supervise nurse practitioners as applicable. The intensive care unit is covered by board certified intensivists and is not part of the hospitalist scope. Clinical Scope * Adult inpatient rounding and admissions * Night coverage for admissions and cross coverage * No procedures required Required Qualifications * Active DC license * Active DEA * DC controlled substance registration * Board certified or board eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine for physicians * Nurse practitioner licensure as applicable. Physician assistants are not accepted for this program. Credentialing and Onboarding * Estimated credentialing timeline: approximately 31 to 60 days * Temporary privileges may be available case by case for clean files and are granted on the first Friday of the month Benefits * Malpractice insurance coverage * Weekly electronic pay * Refer and earn program: Earn $2,000 per referral.
