Quality, Safety & Experience * Lead system-wide quality improvement initiatives focused on patient safety, clinical outcomes, and patient experience. * Collaborate with CMH Quality, Risk Management, and Infection Prevention teams to ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards. * Use data and performance metrics to drive improvement in clinical outcomes and operational performance. Operations & Financial Stewardship * Partner with hospital and system leadership to develop sustainable staffing and coverage models appropriate to CMH’s mix of tertiary and rural hospitals. * Support budget development, productivity expectations, and resource utilization for Hospital Medicine services. * Reduce reliance on temporary staffing through effective workforce planning and engagement strategies. System Collaboration & Integration * Work closely with nursing leadership, care management, emergency medicine, specialty services, and post-acute partners to ensure coordinated inpatient care. * Support alignment of Hospital Medicine practices across sites while respecting the unique needs of Bridgton and Rumford Hospitals. * Participate in CMH medical staff leadership committees and system-wide clinical initiatives. About the Opportunity * Medical Center, with a total licensed capacity of 74 beds also operates a 65-bed acute care hospital * Well-known for its patient-centered services, the hospital, and its staff have won numerous state and national awards for quality in both customer service and clinical performance * The family includes approximately 540 employees, 60 active medical staff providers, 100 courtesy and consulting physicians, and 75 volunteers * The four-weekday hospitalists will create a coverage schedule so that: 1) 24-hour coverage is achieved Monday - Friday; 2) coverage assignments between days and nights are distributed evenly; and 3) approximately fifteen scheduled shifts are worked in any four-week schedule * All shifts are 12 hours in length, starting at either 6:00 AM or 6:00 PM * Approximately one-half day per week per hospitalist when working on the day shift is allocated to administrative or non-patient care duties * Weekends are covered by our full-time hospitalist working from 6:00 AM Saturday through 6:00 AM Monday * Top pay and full benefits Community/Location * Located in the most northeastern city in the US and has a population of 8,000 people * This community is economically, culturally, and socially inviting * Year-round outdoor recreation including hunting, fishing, camping, and kayaking * High-quality public schools and a low crime rate * The community boasts a new multi-million dollar Recreation and Wellness Center that offers programs and activities for all ages * Close to the Canadian border and 3 hours to Bangor JV-2209-93287
