Locum Physician (MD/DO) - Geriatrics in Boston, MA - We are seeking a Geriatrics, Family Medicine, or Internal Medicine Physician for a locum tenens assignment providing medical care across multiple skilled nursing facilities in the greater Cambridge area. The assignment may be filled by one full-time physician or two locum physicians jointly covering a full-time schedule . The physician will care for short-term rehabilitation and long-term care patients , working collaboratively with onsite Nurse Practitioners to deliver high-quality, longitudinal care. Schedule Details: * Monday–Friday * 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM * Full-time weekday coverage * No call required Clinical Model: * Onsite NP support at each facility * NPs manage nursing calls, medication refills, and routine orders * NPs complete initial admission visits within 72 hours * Physician completes new admission visits within 7 days * Long-term care patients are seen every 60–90 days , or sooner if clinically indicated Average daily census is 6–8 patients , including new admissions and follow-up visits. Coverage includes facilities serving both rehabilitation and long-term care populations.
