JOB DETAILS * Position: Emergency Medicine Physician, Locum Tenens * Location: Houston, Texas (Texas Medical Center area) * Schedule: 12-hour rotating emergency medicine shifts (6a-6p and 6p-6a) * Weekly Estimated Pay: $5,780 - $6,850 * Duration: 12 weeks * Orientation: 2 shadow shifts * Patient Volume: Approximately 30-40 patients per day * Admissions: About 4-5 patients per day * Practice Setting: Low-acuity emergency department with pediatric coverage available during peak hours JOB REQUIREMENTS * Active physician credentials and eligibility for hospital credentialing in Texas * At least 1 year of clinical physician experience required * ABEM board certification strongly preferred * Experienced non-boarded physicians with comfort treating gynecology and pediatric patients will be considered * Ability to manage low- to mid-acuity emergency medicine cases in a fast-paced ED environment * Comfort performing standard emergency department procedures * Strong communication, teamwork, and clinical decision-making skills RESPONSIBILITIES * Provide high-quality emergency care to a young, generally healthy patient population * Evaluate and treat common emergency medicine presentations, including GI complaints, gynecologic concerns, and pediatric cases * Perform standard ED procedures as needed for low- to mid-acuity patients * Collaborate with nursing, support staff, and pediatric coverage to ensure smooth patient flow * Work efficiently in a low-acuity emergency department that is not a trauma, stroke, or cardiac center * Support safe admissions and appropriate disposition planning for ED patients Apply now to join this locum tenens emergency medicine opportunity in Houston, Texas.
