Physician Assistant (PA) - Surgery - Cardiothoracic in Martinsburg, WV - We are seeking an experienced Cardiothoracic Surgery Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join a growing Heart & Vascular Institute in Martinsburg, West Virginia. This leadership role combines advanced clinical practice with APP team oversight while working alongside a collaborative team of cardiothoracic surgeons and multidisciplinary providers. Position Highlights * Leadership role within the Cardiothoracic Surgery service * Combination of clinical care and APP leadership responsibilities * Opportunity to participate in staff development, quality improvement, and program growth * Collaborative Heart & Vascular Institute with strong physician and APP support Responsibilities * Provide comprehensive inpatient care for cardiothoracic surgery patients, including preoperative and postoperative management. * Evaluate, diagnose, and develop treatment plans in collaboration with cardiothoracic surgeons. * Lead and mentor the APP team, assisting with staffing, onboarding, credentialing, scheduling, and professional development. * Coordinate multidisciplinary care and ensure high-quality, patient-centered outcomes. * Participate in quality improvement initiatives, education, research, and departmental leadership activities. * Maintain accurate clinical documentation and ensure compliance with hospital policies and standards. Qualifications * Board Certified Nurse Practitioner (ACNP or FNP preferred) or NCCPA-certified Physician Assistant. * Minimum of 3 years of Cardiothoracic Surgery experience required. * Graduate of an accredited NP or PA program. * Current BLS certification (ACLS as required by the department). * Must obtain and maintain both West Virginia and Virginia licensure. * Strong leadership, communication, and clinical decision-making skills.
