General Job Responsibilities: * Perform diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures, including angioplasty, stenting and catheterizations. * Provide comprehensive evaluation and management of patients with cardiovascular conditions. * Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement patient care plans. * Interpret diagnostic tests and imaging studies. * Monitor patient progress and response to treatments, adjusting care plans as needed. * Address and manage acute cardiovascular emergencies and complications. * Maintain detailed and accurate medical records. Skills: * Advanced knowledge of interventional cardiology techniques and procedures. * Strong diagnostic and clinical judgment skills, particularly in high-pressure situations. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. * Proficiency in cardiology-specific medical equipment and technology. * Ability to handle complex and often urgent medical situations. * Flexibility to adapt to new work environments and different medical teams. Minimum Education Requirements:   * Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school. * Residency training program in internal medicine accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or the American Osteopathic Association (AOA). * Fellowship in cardiology, with specific training in interventional cardiology. License & Certifications: * Board certification in cardiology by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) or the American Osteopathic Association (AOA). * Additional board certification or fellowship completion in interventional cardiology. * Active and unrestricted medical license in California. Experience: * While specific requirements may vary, most locum interventional cardiologist positions prefer candidates with at least one year of experience providing care in a clinical setting.
